Mission Statement – why do I write ?

Before I even get started, I want to make clear what my mission is. Why do I write. How can I serve you.

Who am I and what’s this blog about?

I am a parent who’s been there (and still am actually!).

A mom who’s found herself yelling at their kids, and then felt guilty. Who went to work leaving a crying baby behind, not knowing her whys anymore.

A person who’s tried to make everyone happy, and then wouldn’t know why she was unhappy at times.

I wanted more harmony, more clarity. And at some point, I started to believe that our family life could be enjoyable, if I made some changes.

I believed it didn’t have to be an everyday struggle, if I understood things better.

And I want that for you, too.

Parent : Smile and Grow was born to inspire you to transform the difficulties you encounter while raising a child into possibilities for growing as a person.

I share my experiences and reflections, the readings and materials I found interesting or even life-changing. I relate to books and videos I’ve found meaningful and useful to better understand ourselves, how we function and react, as well as how our children develop.

An old story?

Why this blog?

As I learnt and deepened my understanding, I saw the difference it made in my family and daily life; and myself.

I see struggling parents all the time, and I keep thinking : “It doesn’t have to be that way. Now I know.”

And it was important to me to give my little contribution. To promote the importance of raising balanced children and being a balanced person. Do you want to be able to choose, every day, to lead the life you want?

As we deepen our knowledge, awareness and understanding on both children brain development and emotions management, we can have fun together, create a community, laugh, and grow.
